My skin care routine
I often get compliments on my skin, which is so nice considering my age, I’m 58 and will turn 59 in a couple of months. Until I was about 45 my skin behaved well, my skin was soft, moist and flawless. I did cleanse and moisturize, and of course I used SPF in the sun and also daily year round when moisturizers came with SPF. That’s a wonderful invention btw.
When I was about 45 my skin started to change, it got dry, in some areas like on my forehead it was flaky as well. After I cleansed my skin I had to moisturize immediately or else I felt like my face was shrinking. Do you know the feeling? Afer I turned 50 my skin started to be red and irritated, especially around the nose and cheeks, it was Rosacea. I was put on antibiotics for a couple of months and it disappeared, but it came back and there was another round of antibiotics. After a while I started to get acne on my chin, not normal acne, rosacea acne, they were big and painful and lasted for weeks. I had to learn all the tricks in the book about covering up, concealer, foundation, green primer, you name it. I who hardly ever used foundation in my life before now felt I needed to use it every day to feel comfortable. I went to a salon to get help, I got some products that calmed it down and learned that less is more. Never use a facial scrub when you have rosacea for instance.
One of my friends recommended the NuSkin device Lumispa, but I was skeptical. I had learned the hard way to be very careful with what to put on my face. I’ve used other NuSkin products for years and was very happy with them, but I didn’t dare to try out their skin care products due to my skin problems. Actually when I finally got my Lumispa it happened almost by accident. I started out with the cleansing gel for sensitive skin, and I almost immediately saw and felt the difference. My skin wasn’t dry anymore, it felt softer and more dense, it felt like I had a facial in the salon. It also felt so moist that I sometimes forgot to put on moisturizer after I cleansed my skin. The acne didn’t disappear though, not until I changed the cleansing gel to the one for acne then the acne problem was history, too. Now I feel comfortable in my own skin and am happy to say that I use foundation only if I want to and not because I have to.

You can get cleansing gels for all skin types, Normal/combo, Dry, Sensitive, Oily and Acne skin. It’s important to use the right one. I have a couple of times run out of the Acne cleanser and used the Sensitive one for a short period , then the acne comes back. It’s a good reminder though that my skin needs the right products to look good.

I normally use my Lumispa once a day, it’s 2 minutes well spent. In periods I’ve used it only 3-4 times a week, it definitely works, but I feel a positive difference when I’m structured and use it daily.

So far I’ve tried the Day Spa mask, Day Dream cream, Day away Micellar water and the Celltrex Always Right Recovery fluid. My skin was in pretty good condition already so I didn’t think it could feel any softer, I was wrong. After using these products a couple of days I’m convinced and will put them on my next order. This is my personal experience with the NuSkin products, I never dreamed that I at my age should have better skin than ever.
