10x10 challenge
Every now and again I give myself and my group a 10x10 challenge. A 10x10 challenge means that you pick 10 pieces of clothing and make 10 outfits out of them and then you stick to this for 10 days. I don’t pick outerwear or shoes as our weather is unpredictable all year round. I don’t limit accessories either.
I have chosen more colors than it’s usual in such a challenge, but when having a color palette the colors works great together. Another reason I’ve chosen these are because it’s what’s fits me. Some of my more neutral pieces are a bit snug and I refuse to buy any new as I’m determined to loose this corona weight. I’m finally comfortable in my jeans again, so that’s for sure a victory.
So here’s my 10 pieces. When looking at them like this it might be difficult to see how they can work together, but most of them actually do. I’m always cold so I have chosen 4 layers, I think most could do the other way around and chosen 4 tops and 3 layers or even 5 tops and 2 layers. My layers are soft and both the moto and the blazer can be used indoors.
Tops
Purple v-neck from Kettlewell colours
Cream wool sweater from Senze of Joy
Green blouse from Floyd
Layers
Teal faux suede moto jacket from Zavannah ( similar to the picture)
Copper blazer from Floyd
Olive green cardigan from Soft Rebels
Purple long cardigan from Kettlewell
Bottoms
Dark wash jeans from Momento jeans
Olive sweat pants from Only
Mustard yellow dress from Floyd ( similar to the picture )
Here’s the 10 outfits I’ve put together, I might end using different outfits, because there’s always a lot more options than the ones I have put on paper. It also happens I change one piece I’ve not used if I get a better idea during the 10 days. It’s not set in stone, but I mostly stick to the plan.
I use the Stylebook app to make these images btw. I love that app as it keeps track of my clothes and I can play around putting outfits together without moving from the coach. Lol
I will post pictures of my actual outfits in a later blogpost, and I will evaluate them. Even if it looks good on paper it does not mean it works in real life. It`s a great exercise which will not only make you more inventive with your clothes, it will also show what works the best.
Outfit #1 is a classic outfit. I’m a sucker for blazers and always feel comfortable in outfits like this. And when using both my right colors and contrast level I know it works for me.
